Working mommas shout out...

   I am convinced that being a mom is the best job in the world! As a stay at home mom I get to focus all my attention on my family and home. I am a rare breed though. In today's economy it is hard for families to make it on one income. Many moms out there find themselves balancing work and home. I give you guys props! It is a constant 24 hour a day struggle to stay on top of things around the ole Bellingrath casa so if I was working a full time job it would get ugly around here fast.
   Over the years I have tried different things to help bring in a little extra income, while still staying at home as much as possible. A few of my ventures include selling Mary Kay, Avon, my little sewing shop, Ebay, & the occasional part time job.
I couldn't sell water to a man in the desert so the first two were a bust. I had okay luck with ebay mainly selling the kids clothes they outgrew or things in boxes we had toted from house to house for years without ever using. The sewing thing has been good and because I love it, it doesn't really seem like work.  I know I'm not alone here though. I think many women, moms, have done the same thing.
   I came across a great website the other day and shared a link to it on my page. It's called www.themompack.com  It is a site for moms who work from home or have their own businesses. What an amazing resource this place is! Once you join "the pack" and are approved as a member (it's free by the way) then you can work with moms from all over who are trying to build and expand their businesses, too. From what I gathered you are putting together packs. Each pack (which is a large baggie) is stuffed with samples, business cards, and freebies. You are able to request samples, freebies, and business cards from any of the moms on the site to put into you baggie. Then you have a "pack" to hand out to people to promote your business as well as many other working moms! Now you are able to get your business promoted in your packs as well as in other moms packs. Just send them items or business cards and they will include them in their packs.
   It's hard to get a business from home going no matter what kind of business it is. Whether you sell Avon, 31 bags, have a jewelry making business, what ever it is advertising and promotion are the key.
