Today I have big ambitions. After a long weekend full of closet cleaning, the house is destroyed. Despite the clean-up effort that will need to be done in the aftermath of the purge, I feel great! There is just nothing better than getting rid of stuff that has been stuck in a closet or box for years without seeing the light of day. It was amazing how much stuff we have been toting around with us in every move. We worked overtime to go through every thing by Monday so that we could have it all ready for trash or goodwill on Tuesday, thinking that our trash would run one day late due to the Monday holiday. You can imagine how devastated I was when we realized they ran trash as normal!
There are very few things in this world that can make me run. Seeing the trash man passing my drive is one of those things. If I thought I could have caught him I would have ran like a maniac!! LOL! Instead, the reality that I am no where near in shape enough to catch him settled into my brain as I stared at our obscene amount of trash. So, I default to plan B! Today I will call my favorite person, Mr. trash man, and beg him to come back and rescue us from our mountain of garbage.

The fact is, the longer it sits here, the more likely Nathan is going to figure out what we did and start pulling things back out. All our hard work cleaning his room out with lightening speed while he played outside completely unaware of what we were up to will have been in vain!  I'm sure you moms know what I'm talking about. Iron man, the one without a head and missing one arm, that has been living behind the toy bin for the last six months will suddenly become his favorite toy that he plays with all the time. Then, he will walk away clutching the disabled former superhero while mumbling how he just can't believe we would do such a thing. I know because he already discovered the pop up tunnel that we were so close to finally being rid of. Robert saw him out the kitchen window carrying it through the yard. When Robert told him to go put it back in the trash he burst in to tears and immediately began pleading the case of why it deserved to stay. Guess where the tunnel is? I stepped over it about fifty thousand times this morning as it  protruded from Nathan's bedroom door. The real question I have to ask myself is why did I ever think that was a good idea to buy in the first place!

About Me

Newton, Alabama, United States
I am a stay at home mom to three great kids that keep me parenting outside the box. I take one day at time, lean on my Lord, and relish any and all advice that helps me or my kids, or me, or my family, did I say me? Seven years ago I lost my wonderful mother unexpectedly. There have been so many times I have wanted to pick up the phone to call and tell her something funny about the kids or ask her advice. So,this blog is dedicated to her, the dearest mommy in the world! I love you, mom!
